Andrew's horror novella, 'The Bathtub', is now available.

Andraste's Blade

This was the first novel I ever wrote.  I'd written a few shorts before, but it was with 'Blade' that I discovered the joy of character development, sub-plots and relaxed pacing only a novel can bring a writer.

The story is a mixture of horror and historical fantasy, and is set in both Roman north Wales and the modern day.  It's about a druid at the time of Boudicca's violent revolt against the Romans, and his reincarnation in the modern period.  I'm very pleased with the plot, although in fairness I was still learning the basics of the craft and a decade later I could probably pull it off with a bit more polish.

The book is, sadly, out of print, but I have a few paperbacks and an electronic version I could pass on in exchange for a review.

Here's the blurb:

When young artist Peter Davis and his family move to the mountains of North Wales, he anticipates a quiet and comfortable living as he captures the scenery on canvas. Before he can settle into his new home, Peter finds himself experiencing the history of the area through the eyes of an Archdruid who lived there two thousand years ago. Gradually, Peter is pulled into the past where he relives the desperate struggles of the ancient Celts against their Roman conquerors in an era of bloodletting and supernatural worship. He becomes a key figure in the Ancient British revolt against Roman rule, while finding himself battling an evil so powerful it threatens to envelop both his worlds and to consume his family.

Review

"...I'd suggest reading this only during the day."  (Three stars; Amazon)
